Dr. Baumholtz is a highly esteemed board-certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon, deeply dedicated to the art and science of Aesthetic Surgery. His extensive expertise covers a diverse range of cosmetic procedures, making him a sought-after specialist in the realm of enhancing natural beauty. Dr. Baumholtz underwent rigorous training in General Surgery, Hand and Microsurgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, achieving Board Certification in General Surgery and later in Plastic Surgery. Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Baumholtz earned a B.A. in English from Kenyon College, an M.S. from Thomas Jefferson University, and an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College. Following medical school, he completed a General Surgery residency at York Hospital and a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. His training continued with a Plastic and Reconstructive residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, specializing in Aesthetic Surgery for both adult and pediatric patients.

Professional Roles

With a commitment to excellence in Aesthetic Surgery, Dr. Baumholtz returned to Philadelphia as an Associate Professor and staff Surgeon at Temple University Hospital, later becoming the Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Shriners Hospital for Children. In 2013, he was called back to Texas, returning to San Antonio, where he served on staff at various hospitals and surgical centers, including the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and the Audie L. Murphy Veterans' Hospital. Dr. Baumholtz is an Adjunct Professor of Surgery at UTHSCSA, actively participating in the Plastic Surgery fellowship program.

Dr. Baumholtz's involvement in professional societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons (TSPS), and the Bexar County Medical Society, underscores his dedication to advancing the field of Aesthetic Surgery. Since 2017, he has been a guest examiner for the Certifying Examination in Plastic Surgery (American Board of Plastic Surgeons). Dr. Baumholtz has shared his expertise through extensive lecturing, publishing articles, and participating in regional, national, and international meetings, with a specific emphasis on Aesthetic Surgery.
